Easter 2012

This is way late but here are pictures from our day.

 These are the only pictures I took of D in his Easter clothes and I took them with my phone.  He would not look at me for anything.

One month

We survived the first month.  G is growing bigger everyday.  He weighs 8 lbs. 12 1/2 ounces and two weeks ago at the doctor he was 21 1/4 inches long. When D was little I took his picture every month with blocks, I wanted to do something different for G.  I ordered the stickers that have the months on them, but I wanted to do more.  I decided that I am going to try to take his picture with something different every month that I could either write or put the number on or use something to make the number.  This month I used some little plastic counters that happen to be buses. 

Adjusting to life

 We are making our way in this new life.  I think we are about to get in a routine.  It has gone better than I thought in some ways and a little worse than I thought in others.  My recovery from the C-Section went very well.  I have done much better than I did when D was born.  The baby is pretty calm most of the time.  He sleeps 3 1/2 to 4 hours at a time and seems to pretty mellow.  D is adjusting pretty well.  He is more needy some days than others, but for the most part he is doing well.  He wants to help and sometimes hears G crying before we do.  It is amazing to me how different the boys are even though G is so little. For example, G loves to be wrapped up tight and cuddled, D never liked any of that.  I am interested to see if they will always be this different.

 I have lots of pictures of G by himself, but I will put those in another post.  I wanted to share the ones that I had of the boys together.

Science Spectrum with our cousins

While we were in Lubbock, the girls came to stay with Gran and Grumpy.  They brought them to Lubbock one day to visit D and go to the Science Spectrum.  It is as close to a children's museum as it gets in our area.  They have changed a few things lately so it is a little more kid friendly.  There is an anima-tronic (I have no idea if that is a real word) T-Rex on the bottom floor that D hates.  There are live animals on the same floor, which he usually loves, and he wanted nothing to do with them because of the T-Rex.

D could had stayed and played with this excavator all day.

Before little G

We spent the two weeks before little G arrived in Lubbock.  After I went to the hospital contractions, we thought it would be better to be closer to the hospital if we needed to get there in a hurry.  We took our camper and made a little vacation out of it.  We got to take D to do some things that we had been wanting to do with him so he got some special time before we added a new person to the family.  Of course the thing he liked the best was digging in the dirt right outside the camper.  It was nice to have a change of scenery for a little while.  

 D finally learned how to blow bubbles.  I may have been more excited about it than he was.

 We went to Mr. Gatti's to play games.
