I saw kiwi crates in a magazine a few months ago and thought they were very interesting. I have since seen them on several blogs and have become even more intrigued with them. I decided to go ahead and sign us up. I thought it would be something special that I did with just D. It was going to be something that he got to do because he was the big brother. We got our first one in last week and it did not disappoint. I was very impressed with the activities and D liked all of them. He spent about an hour working on them, so that is a win in my book. He is never interested in anything that long. The one that we got was a gardening crate. It came with the material to do two activities and several more that you could do at home.
The activity was planting bean and squash plants. They sent everything we needed to complete the project: the pocket and suction cups to hang them in the window, the dirt and the seeds.
The second activity was decorating flower pots with model magic and planting a flower and a vegetable in them. D got to pick and color the flower and the vegetable that he wanted to use. There were several choices.
We need to work on coloring.
Finished flower pots
They even sent scissors.
It has been a week and D asks to watch his plants grow everyday. We are starting to get a few little green sprouts.
I am excited to get the next one in the mail.
