Turtle pictures

I asked G's great grandma to make a turtle shell so that I could take pictures of G for his birth announcements.  I had grand plans of all the pictures I was going to take with it and G hated it.  He was not willing to work with mama at all.  I got a few and need to take it out again before he gets too big and try again.  I need to make sure he is really asleep so I can move him however I want and he won't care.

This is how really felt about it.

Smiling baby

I took these pictures with my phone so they are not the best.  He smiles a lot more for his daddy than he does for me, but I caught a little one.  He is just so precious.

Things to remember

It seems to me that my little D has gone and grown up on us. In the past few weeks he is really starting to look more like a little boy and less like a baby. I don't know if it is because we have a tiny one in the house or if he has really changed that much. I just wanted to write down a few things that I want to remember about D. He says these things that I don't want to forget. Don't forget for ...... He says this when we are leaving the house or when he is getting ready for bed, like don't forget for my blanket. You can do this with/for me if you want .... He says this when he wants you to do something, but wants you to think you have a choice. I know that there is something else but of course I don't remember right now. Those are the main two things anyway. I don't think I am ready for him to grow up just yet. He is growing too fast. Tomorrow I will probably be ready for him to be grown, but today I want to keep him little for a little bit longer.

Something special for D

I saw kiwi crates in a magazine a few months ago and thought they were very interesting.  I have since seen them on several blogs and have become even more intrigued with them.  I decided to go ahead and sign us up.  I thought it would be something special that I did with just D.  It was going to be something that he got to do because he was the big brother.  We got our first one in last week and it did not disappoint.  I was very impressed with the activities and D liked all of them.  He spent about an hour working on them, so that is a win in my book.  He is never interested in anything that long.  The one that we got was a gardening crate.  It came with the material to do two activities and several more that you could do at home.

The activity was planting bean and squash plants.  They sent everything we needed to complete the project:  the pocket and suction cups to hang them in the window, the dirt and the seeds.
The second activity was decorating flower pots with model magic and planting a flower and a vegetable in them.  D got to pick and color the flower and the vegetable that he wanted to use.  There were several choices.

We need to work on coloring.

Finished flower pots

They even sent scissors.

It has been a week and D asks to watch his plants grow everyday.  We are starting to get a few little green sprouts.
I am excited to get the next one in the mail.

PIctures of G

This is in the hospital.  I ordered these stickers to take his picture in every month.  For the first month I had one for every week.
This is the blanket I made for him.

Easter 2012

This is way late but here are pictures from our day.
D's Easter basket

These are the only pictures I took of D in his Easter clothes and I took them with my phone.  He would not look at me for anything.

One month

We survived the first month.  G is growing bigger everyday.  He weighs 8 lbs. 12 1/2 ounces and two weeks ago at the doctor he was 21 1/4 inches long. When D was little I took his picture every month with blocks, I wanted to do something different for G.  I ordered the stickers that have the months on them, but I wanted to do more.  I decided that I am going to try to take his picture with something different every month that I could either write or put the number on or use something to make the number.  This month I used some little plastic counters that happen to be buses.
