Fourth of July Parade

We took another trip to my hometown for the fourth.  I like going down there because lots of people make the trip and that is just about the only time I get to see people I went to church and school with.  It is nice to get to see old friends every once in a while.  The lake is really low so it seemed like there were less people this year.  It was hot and the parade seemed really long.  D liked it for a little while and then he was ready to go inside and play.  G liked walking around and playing with the wagon.  G didn't watch the parade at all. I took no pictures of the actual parade.  It was just your normal parade with cars, firetrucks, and a few horses.  They didn't even throw that much this year so there wasn't a lot to do but watch.  There was one float that was handing out pop-ice and the kids thought that was great.  It was a nice way to cool off a little bit.
This is Gs first sucker ever.
M was so patient letting D stick all those things to her face.

Outside time

We have spent so much time outside this summer.  D would stay out there all day if he could.  I think there is only one day that he told me it was too hot and he wanted to go inside.  That day the high was 106.  I am thankful everyday that we have the pool to play in.  D and I would both go crazy if we couldn't go outside.

More Trip Pictures

A few more pictures from our little family trip to San Antonio.  We stayed at a hotel that had a swimming pool for little kids and a lot of grassy area to run around in.  There were a couple of slides in the little kids pool that D really liked going down.  He had a great time and was worn out every day.  G liked the water but would rather not have to wear a life jacket and he is too unsteady to run around without it.  Our room was on the ground floor with a door to the outside.  The boys liked just going out to the grass to run around.  It was nice to get away as a family and we had a great time.

We went to lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe.  As you can tell, D loved it.  He sat like this most of the time we were there.  The animals only bothered G the first time they went off and then he didn't really care.

 The view from the room.

Sea World

D has always loved sea animals.  His favorite are probably orca or orke (this is what D calls them) whales.  He has talked about it a lot since we have been home and tells me a lot that he wants to go back.  There were several things there that we did not take the time to do.  There is also a whole water park that we did not go to.  You could literally spend several day there and never run out of new things to see.  It was pretty hot and G didn't enjoy it all that much, I think he is still too little.  G did like the penguins though.

This is laying on the edge of the dolphin tank where if you are still long enough the dolphins will swim right up to you.

This is how he felt the whole day.

One of the shows.  We didn't watch a whole show just parts of several.

 The baby sea lion.

This one was loud and barking.

We watched part of the shamu show also.  These things are so big and it is amazing all the things they have taught them to do.
