5 months

G is 5 months old now.  He seems to be growing much fasted than D did and he is the typical 2nd child and I have no where near as many pictures of him as I do of D.  He happened to be a little sick the week he was 5 months so I had to take him to the doctor.  He weighs 16 pounds and 1/2 an ounce and he was 26 3/4 inches long.  He is wearing 6 to 9 month clothes and I am still putting him in size 2 diapers but I am pretty sure he would fit in size 3 better.  I just have so many size 2 diapers left that I am trying to use up.  He has started trying to sit up in the last few days and can do it for a few seconds at a time.  He still hasn't rolled over on purpose but is getting very close.  He is a very happy baby most of the time and seems to have a laid back personality (I needed a kid with on of those) so maybe he will balance D out a little bit.  D has gotten very interested in him and wants to show him all of his toys as long as G doesn't touch them that is.  G still loves his big brother and wants to be where he can see him at all times, maybe that is for his safety though.  I am looking forward to seeing how they grow up together.

Fun with D

I have been trying to come up with some fun things for D to do and I have not been having much luck.  He is happy doing just about anything outside but it has been so hot.  I am very happy that I have been getting the kiwi crates all summer because he likes doing those things. I mixed some corn starch with water a food coloring to make a kind of paste and he loved that.  Mostly he liked pouring it from one bowl to the other.

 When we rinsed off the sidewalk a couple of crickets came out and those were almost as much fun.

This crate was right up his alley.  He loved making the robots and this is the first time I have let him use scissors.  He wanted to cut everything for a couple of days.  I don't have many pictures of them because I was helping in the building process.

 He wasn't as impressed with this one, but he did like stamping the animals.  The car was a little above his head, he did like driving it after I had it all put together. 

G and solid food

We have tried giving G food a few times but we are not doing it everyday.  In the last 3 years someone decided that babies went from being ready to eat at 4 months to not being ready for food until 6 months.  I don't really understand the reasoning and G eats really well so I am just letting him eat every once in a while.  He loves food and has even cried when it was gone. He has had almost every vegetable that make and likes all of them and he likes oatmeal better than rice cereal.  He is growing very fast and weighs close to 16 pounds now if not a little more.
